In SNIoE, our research group (Optoelectronic Materials & Device Lab) explores the intersection of optoelectronics and neuromorphic engineering. We focus on developing bio-inspired, optoelectronically controlled devices for next-generation smart sensors, in-memory computation and storage hardware, and defense-related autonomous system. Our approach leverages the unique properties of 2D materials and their heterogeneous integration to drive innovation in future electronic and photonic technologies. At OEMD, our research spans graphene, TMDs, semimetals, ferroelectrics, and other emerging layered semiconductors, with a strong emphasis on understanding light-matter interactions, device physics and their underlying mechanisms.
