Professor Rajeev Kumar Singh is a distinguished academic, researcher, and institution builder whose work spans the frontiers of computer science, artificial intelligence, and the broader societal implications of emerging technologies.
He holds a PhD in Computer Science & Technology from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, and has built a research portfolio that bridges technical depth with real-world impact. His scholarly interests encompass Communication Networks and the application of Machine Learning across Computer Vision, Healthcare, and Computational Drug Discovery.
Beyond his research contributions, Professor Singh is currently authoring a forthcoming book tentatively titled Dynamics of AI: Pleasure, Politics and Programming , a substantive engagement with the societal, technological, and strategic dimensions of artificial intelligence that signals his commitment to thinking about AI not merely as an engineering problem, but as a civilisational one.
As an educator, Professor Singh has taught extensively at both the undergraduate and doctoral levels, earning recognition for the collaborative academic culture he nurtures among students and faculty alike. He is known for mentoring diverse faculty teams and championing interdisciplinary initiatives, complemented by active participation in international academic collaborations.
At Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence, he has held several pivotal leadership roles including Dean of International Programs, Associate Dean Academics, and Chair of Admissions, in addition to his position as Professor of Computer Science and Engineering. Currently, he is the Dean of the School of Engineering and spearheading the school to the next level of progress.
