Dr. Madhur Deo Upadhayay is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, School of Engineering, Shiv Nadar University. He is an accomplished academic and researcher with expertise spanning RF and microwave engineering, antennas and propagation, electromagnetic engineering, wireless communication, and advanced RF systems. He currently leads the Microwave Lab at Shiv Nadar University, where his research and teaching activities integrate fundamental electromagnetic theory with practical engineering applications.
Research Interests
His research interests encompass active and passive RF/microwave circuits, microwave devices, antenna engineering, MIMO antennas, millimeter-wave and sub-millimeter-wave antennas, electromagnetic compatibility/interference (EMC/EMI), metamaterials, and Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) antennas and beams. His recent research activities include the development of advanced antenna technologies for high-frequency wireless communication, radar, MIMO systems, and OAM-based RF communication.
Research Achievements
- Developed a state-of-the-art design of OAM antenna that does not require a complex phase-shifting network.
- Developed a MIMO antenna with multifunctional capabilities, including pattern diversity, polarization diversity, and frequency scanning.
- Developed the smallest Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) antenna using a single square-shaped patch.
- Developed a floating-base active antenna.
