M.A. in Teaching (Dance) from the Royal Academy of Dance, University of Surrey, and pursuing her Doctorate from the Department of Dance at Texas Woman's University.
Aadya is an Odissi dancer and a dance educator. For the last two decades, she has performed extensively to critical acclaim and is an ICCR empanelled dance artist. She is currently interested in the pedagogy of teaching dance and her work centers around exploring traditional methodologies of dance training in the contemporary education space. Aadya's special areas of interest are curriculum planning and assessment development for the performing arts.
Aadya's special areas of interest are curriculum planning and assessment development for the performing arts. Working at the cusp of education, performance, history, and sociology of dance, her research and teaching focus on teaching traditional dance forms in contemporary spaces.
Aadya is the author of "Odissi Yaatra: The Journey of Guru Mayadhar Raut". The book documents the revival years of Odissi dance and features a unique collection of rare photographs. The book has been highly praised for its in-depth documentation of previously unrecorded events.
