Department of Electrical Engineering, SOE organizes a High End Workshop On TCAD based Modeling & Simulation of Advanced Semiconductor Devices Under the KARYASHALA Scheme, Accelerate Vigyan, A SERB initiative from 23rd January – 31st January 2023. 

About the Shiv Nadar Institute of Eminence

Objective of the Workshop
Hands-on Workshop on TCAD based modeling & simulation of Advanced Semiconductor devices to train promising PG and PhD scholars from Universities and Colleges interested in the analysis and design aspects of advanced Semiconductor and enable them to at both Graduate and Postgraduate level. At the core of the TCAD framework is an interesting interplay of fundamental principles of device physics, semiconductor technology, solid state etc.

Major topics to be covered

  • Introduction to Boltzmann Transport Equation & Its reduction to Drift Diffusion Transport, Hydrodynamic Transport Model, Quantum Mechanical Transport models
  • Hands-on Implementation of TCAD Simulation in Advanced Semiconductor Devices - Sub 5nm FETs
  • Wide Bandgap power & Opto-Devices simulations
  • Solar Organic & Inorganic Photovoltaic
  • DFT atomistic level calculations and its integration into device & sensor design

Course materials
All necessary hardware, software, and course material will be provided in the workshop.

Who can Attend?
Ph.D. and PG students from AICTE approved Engineering Colleges and Universities with related background can apply. Candidates from Industry and R&D organizations will also be considered.

Note: The number of participants is restricted to 25.
