The department of sociology conducted a two day workshop with tweleve Masters and MPhil students and others wishing to pursue their doctoral reserach in sociology and social anthropology.
The workshop was an intensive discussion-based engagement, where aspiring doctoral students were trained to develop and fine-tune their proposed doctoral research projects. This was done in the format of a workshop conducted by the faculty of the Department of Sociology, Shiv Nadar University.
The aim of the workshop was to enable aspiring doctoral researchers to concretely draft their research questions, construct the possibility of a field in response to their research question or locate it in the archives, work on ways of incorporating existing literature and conceptualizing theoretical frameworks, think about methods that could be adopted to materialize research projects to eventually lead to the the first draft of a reserach proposal for larger public dissemination.
