Hexapod robot is exciting research because of its legged motion capability which suits all terrain. Here researchers at Shiv Nadar University, have gone one step further by integrating propelling capability in our hexapod robot in case the robot has to move through water as in the case of an amphibian creature. Dr. Santanu Mitra is driving his research group on these bio-inspired robots for the last couple of years and handling a sponsored project from the Defense Research Development Organization. The higher capability intelligent systems made at SNU use the onboard vision system for the terrain identification and gait adaptation by implementing strategic algorithms. Later some computational fluid dynamics results also examined for the propulsion of the bot in water."
