Shiv Nadar University, Celebrated 5th International Day of Yoga today, Friday the 29th of June 2019, to bring peace, harmony, happiness, and success in the life of all individuals. This was a great opportunity to imbibe the value of discipline. Yoga is mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing in one’s life, which is to be practiced every day. Through the International day of Yoga, all participants got the chance to know how yoga embodies the unity of mind and body.

Despite the fact that the students are on vacation at this time of the year, this event was well-attended & participated by Faculty, Staff, Students & Resident family members present on campus, taking the number well over 90 participants. An overview & welcome of today’s event was done by Dr. Amrish Tony (Deputy Director & HOD), Physical Education. The session for today’s 5th International Day of Yoga was led by the in-house full-time yoga instructor Ms. Poonam Trivedi. All participants performed Yoga between 09:00 am and 10:00 am. Starting with a warm-up followed by different yoga postures like Sthli Dandasana, Dandasana, Vajrasana, Ardha-usthrasana, Shashankasana, Poorna Ushtrasana, Makarasana, Bhujangasana, Poorna, Bhujangasana, Naukasana, setubandhasana, finally ended with Pranayama and Yog Nidra, meditation through deep mesmerizing music in the background.

Vote of Thanks was given by Dean DSW Maj.Gen. G Jaishankar (Retd.) informing all participants about the active yoga program which runs every day morning and evening for the entire Shiv Nadar University community at ISC.
