Celebrating the winners of Dean's List for Spring 2024

In a celebration to recognize students' academic efforts, the university gathered on Thursday (September 19) to honour the Dean's List winners for the Spring session of 2024.

One hundred and ninety-eight students made the cut for awards for getting a Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) of 8.50 and above. Recognizing the hard work and dedication of the winners, a packed hall saw parents, students, faculty, Deans, and the Vice-Chancellor come together to laud students' efforts.

"Congratulations to all those who made it to the Dean's List. This is a great achievement. It's very encouraging to see the kind of dedication you have to your studies. At Shiv Nadar University, we try hard to provide a multidisciplinary education and one that nurtures the soul, heart, mind, body, and spirit. I once again congratulate all the winners, their parents, families and friends who have gathered here," said Vice-Chancellor Professor Ananya Mukherjee, addressing the packed venue.

Interestingly, 198 students who made the cut to the Dean's list also included 11 who scored a perfect 10 SGPA.

"This is an exceptional day. I appreciate the struggles each winner had to overcome to achieve this honour. I'm doubly happy to see these happy faces twice a year. This is a recognition that you deserve. I look at all the students featured on the Dean's List as role models for everyone at the university and beyond. You should be proud of this achievement, and you should own it," said Professor Partha Chatterjee, Dean of Academics.

The Dean's List included a diverse group of students from various schools, including Engineering, Humanities, Natural Sciences, and Management. Besides meeting stringent academic requirements, these students have also contributed to the university community through research, projects, and extracurricular involvement.

P Y Sharan, a B. Tech student from Computer Science and Engineering, School of Engineering, who received an 8.83 SGPA, said, "I am sure there were times during the semester when it didn't feel like putting in that extra effort, but your commitment and your hard work have helped you reach this stage today."

"I congratulate everyone on the Dean's List. This is a testament to your dedication and hard work. Be sure to keep up the enthusiasm and look beyond the grades," said Parth Jhunjhunwala, a Bachelor of Science (Research) Economics student at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Being on the Dean's List is a mark of distinction that highlights a student's dedication and hard work and enhances their academic profile for future opportunities, such as scholarships, internships, and postgraduate admissions. It proves their ability to excel in a challenging academic environment.
