Dr. Urmila Bhirdikar (Sociology, SNU) and Dr. Vinayak Das Gupta (English, SNU) in collaboration with Music Archive Monash University organize an online Symposium on 'Music and Social Affect: Building Genealogies in Asia', 11-12 March, 2021. To register go to: https://bit.ly/2PDmzhx

This symposium -- a collaboration between Shiv Nadar University and Music Archive Monash University -- is organised around the question of how music contributes to social affect, with special emphasis on popular music. The symposium focuses on two aspects: affect in music and its varied, sometimes uncanny relation to social and popular music in Asia.

This online symposium brings together eminent scholars to discuss music from Asia and its social affect.
