Postgraduate Certificate Program in Life Science Research
Overview
The Department of Life Sciences at Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence introduces a one-year Postgraduate Certificate Program in Life Science Research, a unique opportunity for fresh bachelor’s degree graduates eager to explore and build a career in experimental research. This is a comprehensive residential program, academically equivalent to a Postgraduate Diploma.
The hands-on, immersive program is designed for students passionate about advancing their laboratory skills and gaining in-depth research experience. Throughout the year, participants will engage in practical training across seven core research themes, which reflect the department’s interdisciplinary strengths:
- Development, Regeneration, and Repair
- Aging and Metabolism
- Infection and Immunity
- Disease Pathogenesis and Therapeutics
- Plant Biotechnology and Sustainability
- Neuroscience, Brain, and Cognition
- Evolution and Ecology
Students will have access to cutting-edge infrastructure, including - advanced laboratory facilities, a world-class Centre for Integrative and Translational Research (CITRES) to model human health and disease, and personalized mentorship from experienced faculty (more details on the departmental website).
Moreover, students will be part of a dynamic peer-learning community, working alongside the department’s biotechnology undergraduate students and PhD scholars in biotechnology and bioinformatics, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.
