This project, ‘IRS-Assisted Multi-Antenna Communication Systems for NextGeneration Wireless Networks,’  focuses on designing a low-complexity and analytically tractable IRS-assisted MIMO system architecture to enhance spatial multiplexing performance in mmWave wireless channels.

By integrating intelligent reflecting surfaces with advanced MIMO techniques, the work aims to address key challenges in mmWave communication, including severe path loss, channel sparsity, and beam misalignment. The proposed architecture seeks to optimise signal propagation, improve link reliability, and enable higher data rates while keeping computational overhead manageable.

Through systematic modelling, algorithm development, and performance evaluation, the project aims to establish a practical framework that advances next-generation wireless system design and supports scalable mmWave deployments.
