Major

We prepare our students to face and meet the challenges of biotechnology by laying a solid foundation of the subject knowledge through the excellent teaching methods of our faculty.

Our faculty members are selected from premier institutions worldwide, such as Harvard Medical School, Yale University, University of Maryland, Vanderbilt University, University of Virginia, NIH, ICGEB, JNU, and AIIMS.

We train the students in interdisciplinary areas, some of which include Cancer Biology, Vascular Biology, Malaria, Bioinformatics, Medical Biotechnology, Industrial Biotechnology, Drug design, and drug development, which are the specializations of our faculty.

Global academic collaborations that Shiv Nadar University has with the University of Pennsylvania, Carnegie Mellon University, and Duke University, will help the students to have better exposure and understanding, widening the horizons of their education.

Minor

The minimal credit requirement for a Minor in Biotechnology is 21 credits, out of which 12 credits are from four compulsory courses.

The Department offers a Minor degree to students pursuing various Major programs across the University. The Department has 10 seats reserved for students opting for a Minor degree. The criteria for selecting students for a Minor will be based on the overall CGPA and followed by an interview with the departmental committee.

To get a Minor degree, the students must complete a minimum of 21 credits in the Life Sciences department, including some compulsory and some optional coursework. Four compulsory courses have to be completed by each student to receive the Minor degree. Apart from those, each student must take three optional courses.
