Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR Signs MoU with Newgen Software

Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Newgen Software on Tuesday, establishing a framework for collaboration across teaching, industry engagement and professional development, with a special focus on the university’s Design Department.

The agreement was signed on campus by Professor Ananya Mukherjee, Vice-Chancellor of Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR, and Deepika Dutta Kapoor, Chief Design Officer of Newgen Software, a provider of digital transformation solutions.

The collaboration covers curriculum development, industry projects, internships, portfolio reviews, faculty development programmes and guest lectures, alongside other industry–academia initiatives. Together, these areas provide a framework for connecting academic learning with industry practice and creating opportunities for students and faculty to engage with professionals.

For Design students, the scope extends from what they learn in the classroom to how they present and apply their work. Curriculum development and industry projects will be complemented by internships and portfolio reviews, bringing professional perspectives into students’ learning and development.

Faculty development programmes and guest lectures are also included in the agreement, extending the partnership to teaching and knowledge exchange. Guest lectures will provide another channel for students to hear industry perspectives, alongside the practical learning opportunities outlined in the agreement.

An interactive session between Newgen Software and Design students followed the signing ceremony. The discussion offered insights into industry expectations, internship opportunities, and the skills and tools students need to navigate the field.

The session brought the agreement’s focus on industry engagement into a student-facing discussion, connecting the partnership with questions about professional preparation and the demands of design practice.

With curriculum, practical experience, portfolio development and faculty engagement within its scope, the MoU lays the groundwork for a relationship between the university and Newgen Software. The Design Department will be a focus as the collaboration moves from agreement to academic and professional engagement.
