Shiv Nadar University, Delhi NCR awarded 'University of the Year 2024 - Emerging' by FICCI
Shiv Nadar University, Delhi NCR has won the prestigious 'University of the Year 2024' award in 'Emerging (10- 20 Years)' category at the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) Higher Education Excellence Awards 2024.
Professor Ananya Mukherjee, Vice Chancellor, Shiv Nadar University, Delhi NCR received the award at the inaugural ceremony held on 18 October 2024 during the 19th FICCI Higher Education Summit held in New Delhi from 17-19 October 2024. Ms. Lindy Cameron CB OBE, British High Commissioner to India; Ms Jyoti Vij, Director General, FICCI; Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Chairperson - FICCI Committee on Higher Education and Pro Chancellor, Symbiosis International University; and Dr. Sekar Viswanathan, Vice-President, Vellore Institute of Technology were the guest panellists and present the awards at the ceremony.
FICCI Higher Education Excellence Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements across India's higher education landscape, recognising institutions in both private and public sectors. "The award is based on all aspects of the university's work, in particular aspects such as interdisciplinary research, partnerships and social responsibility," said Dr. Mukherjee. "We were also required to present a case study. We presented our Center for Integrative and Translational Studies (CITRES) which we hope will make landmark contribution to human health."
India’s youngest Institution of Eminence (IoE), Shiv Nadar University, Delhi NCR, was set up in 2011 by the Shiv Nadar Foundation, a philanthropic foundation established by Mr. Shiv Nadar, founder of HCL. In the Government’s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Shiv Nadar IoE has been the youngest institution in the ‘top 100’ Overall list for six consecutive years. In NIRF-2024, it ranked 62 in the ‘University’ category.
