As part of the 2017 FICA Public Art Grant, Shiv Nadar University’s Devashish Sharma from the Art Design and Performing Arts department has been a part of a fantastic project.

The ‘Museum of Culture/ Sanskriti Sangrahalaya, Balenga Para’ centres around the idea of exploring the museum paradigm: using the museum apparatus to generate dialogues about the preservation of local culture. It also envisages the production of discourses within local knowledge systems, articulating the museum architecture and construction of the physical structures, collection of tangible and intangible heritage, and the curation of the collection.

The project located in the Imlee Mahuaa School, South Central Chattisgarh will also include an archive, a library and an art-room, which together with the museum will function as spaces for preserving, analyzing, experimenting and curating ideas of culture.
