new record of insectivorous Plant Species in Ramsar site 2413 (Saman Bird Sanctuary Uttar Pradesh)

Team led by Dr Pandey has found and recorded the presence of very rare insectivorous plant species-  Utricularia stellaris (also known as bladderwort) at Saman Bird sanctuary, Uttar Pradesh. This record was found during the field survey during October 2021, this informaiton has been passed to Forest offcials for documentationa and record. Saman bird sanctuary has been declared as Ramsar site (no 2413) in 2nd December 2019. UItricularia is a very rare species and their presence is restricted to eastern India, and to some what near western Ghat. This is a very rare chance of their presence in such a marshy wetlands, and also important in sense it is now a declared protected site in UP India. The news has been covered and published in few newspapers through Forest officials.
