Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), a statutory body under the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, has awarded the prestigious Ramanujan Fellowship to Dr. Bappaditya Gole, Assistant Professor, School of Natural Sciences, Shiv Nadar University. Dr. Gole will use the awarded grant in his extensive research in Biomimetic Supramolecular Chemistry.
The Ramanujan Fellowship is awarded to exceptional scientists and engineers from all over the world scientific research in India. Ramanujan Fellows are allowed to work in any of the scientific institutions and universities in India and are eligible for receiving regular research grants through the extramural funding schemes of various science & technology agencies of the Government of India.
Before joining Shiv Nadar University, Dr. Gole was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Bordeaux (France) and the University of Würzburg (Germany). An Integrated Master's-Ph.D. holder from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Dr. Gole is a highly-awarded scholar who has made significant research contributions in various fields of Chemistry including but not limited to self-assembled materials, organic materials, foldamers, crystalline polymers and synthetic peptides.
To name a few of his academic accolades, he is the recipient of the ‘Vasudevamurthy-Soundararajan Prize (2010)’, the ‘Nagaraja Rao Medal (2011)’ and the ‘Bristol-Myers Squibb Fellowship (2012)’.
