Job Description 

Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence is looking to hire a candidate for its Office of Communications & Marketing. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Public Relations Specialist to join our fast-growing team!

This is an on-site job. A suitable candidate will have had proven successful experience working in a collaborative and cross-functional setting. The candidate will also have a proven history of successfully executing media strategies while working in a PR position

The candidate will also have experience working with traditional PR channels as well as key social media channels such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.


Essential Qualification:

Bachelor’s or Masters in mass communication. A candidate for the position must have a bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Journalism, Mass Communications, English, Business Administration, Marketing, International Relations, Communications, Public Relations, or any other related field. An equivalent of the same in working experience is also acceptable.

Experience: A suitable candidate for the position of News & Media Relations must have a minimum experience of 8-10 years in a progressive public relations position in a fast-moving and dynamic business environment. In addition to this, the suitable candidate must have proven and successful experience in planning and managing multiple PR projects under tight deadlines.

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for understanding the University’s core communication models of thought leadership, student-led initiatives, institutional journeys, the role of ranking & accreditations, and is the custodian of all external communications.
  2. Establish a public relations program that promotes them.
  3. Develop and manage public relations plans and ensures that they stay aligned with the University’s overall objectives.
  4. Cross-functional operations with various stakeholders of the University
  5. Draft Media Content for press notes & releases.


Skills & attributes required:

  1. PR network with media & industry
  2. The ability to prioritize your workload and keep to strict content deadlines.
  3. Presentation skills
  4. Willingness to attend corporate/university/ events after hours and on weekends.
  5. Should be willing to travel as & when required
  6. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  7. Knowledge of copywriting and editing
  8. Daily liaising with the PR agency & allied vendors
  9. Basic budget management skills to track spending on sponsorships, events, and marketing material
  10. Able to work in a start-up mode of a growing University environment
  11. Team player, Proactive, resourceful, and flexible
  12. Ready to take on responsibilities
  13. Able to work in a university environment
  14. Able to collate data in collaboration with multiple stakeholders across the university.
