Avinash holds a Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in the field of supply chain risk management. He had his master’s degree from National Institute of Technology (NIT) Calicut, Kerala in Industrial Engineering and Management and his bachelor’s degree from NIT Karnataka, in Mechanical engineering. Before joining Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University, he has served for nearly 7 Years in research positions at National University of Singapore, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Indian Institute of Science. He also has 3 years of industry experience, as analytics manager, with ST Logistics (a logistics company in Singapore).
Some of his recent areas of research include studying the possibility of using autonomous agents to handle supply chain disruptions, using machine learning to handle yard planning in container depots and developing an industry 4.0 vessel collision avoidance system. He likes to spend his free time with his family, socializing with his friends and colleagues, and following world affairs.

- To assess the strategic suppliers of the firm for their risk exposure and develop mitigating measures against main risks and assess their effectiveness through simulation.
- Building dynamic supply chain risk management platform
- Develop real-time risk indices of suppliers based on real-time information such as goods delivery status, natural disaster, traffic conditions, etc. and integrate the results with the dash boarding platform to create a control tower.
- Demand Planning for e-Business
- Define and model the triggers that drive demand- for the base, initiative, and promotion replenishment stream for responsive supply chain.
- Feasibility study of optimizing runway scheduling for different scenarios at Hong Kong International Airport
