Looking beyond standard neutrino flavour proportions at IceCube
Abstract: We discuss the capabilities of IceCube to detect individual flavours in incident neutrino fluxes. Following an understanding of the expected flavour proportions from standard neutrino mixing, we consider some beyond standard model scenarios that lead to altered neutrino mixing probabilities and therefore to non-standard proportions of the different flavours in the incident flux, especially as a function of the incident neutrino energies. We briefly discuss how this could potentially lead to detectability of the involved Physics at IceCube and future, larger neutrino telescopes.
