About the Session

The session will utilize the modalities of Dance Movement Therapy to bring our focus to our bodies and help us understand it's connection with our emotional lives. When we experience the unimaginable and unprecedented circumstances like the ongoing pandemic, there are traumas that we experience, which the words and thoughts fail to hold, to comprehend but those traumas stay alive in our bodies as an unbearable emotional state.

Bessel Vanderkolk (2014) writes that the body holds the score. The body contains and communicates what the mind cannot comprehend in difficult times. Thus, the attempt is to bring back an awareness to these untouched states in us. Through the workshop, let's invite the insight of the psyche-soma connection into our own experiences to support our own self-states.
