
The Department of Civil Engineering cordially invites you for the expert talk seminar on “Generation of Non Fare Box Revenue for part financing of Mass Rapid Transport Project (MRTS) and its sustainable operation” on August 31, 2022 (Wednesday), 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM. The session will be moderated by Dr. Gopal Das Singhal, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering.
Abstract of the talk
In case of Delhi MRTS projects the Government of India has mandated to generate 6%, 5% and 4.5% of the capital cost form property development activities during Phase-1, 2 & 3 respectively. In this endeavour, Property Development initiative is undertaken to generate Real Estate Income i.e. directly attributable to the segment including rental from leasing of land and built up space are considered. Some major avenues of real estate income for MRTS include
1. Income from stand-alone plots
2. Income from built up spaces
3. Income from Multi level parking
4. Income from building outside metro station
5. Income from project affected person
The development brings attractiveness and aesthetics in station ambience while helping in increasing the ridership. This seminar discusses the details of non-fare box revenue generation operation mechanisms at DMRC and its utilization in part financing of development and operation of MRTS (Mass rapid transport project).
