The University invites applications from highly motivated bright candidates with interests and skills in science administration for working on the position of a Grants Manager.
Purpose of the role
Identify opportunities, design and develop strategies to reform the grants administration process at the University. Provide support to faculty members in managing, writing new grant proposals, liaison with granting agencies and finding new sources of funding. Ensuring compliance, following the grantor's guidelines. Conducting workshops in grants writing and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify new funding opportunities for individuals or groups of scientists.
- Develop strategies that can improve and optimize grant administration processes.
- Managing and supporting the grants requirement and implementation for the University.
- Identify available grant opportunities, maintain and update the funding database and share the details of new grant options with faculty members.
- Constant engagement with sponsoring/granting bodies (Government / Private).
- Maintaining and building relationships with funders and other strategic partners on a local, state, national, and international level;
- Assist faculty in proposal development and submission, ensuring the sponsoring agency’s requirements.
- Serve as the main focal point for communications to the sponsoring agencies.
- Oversee the job of invoicing, accounting, reporting, and other administrative functions to ensure the successful execution of the grant process.
- Monitoring fund flow, timely submission of reports and statement of accounts for extramural grants.
- Administer grant records and evaluate financial reports to analyze all annual progress and perform review on grant expenditure.
- Coordinate with the program team on selection, institutional capacity development plans and overall partnership development methodologies.
- Facilitate collaborations with industry and contract research opportunities.
- Mentors and trains grants coordinator, grant officers, and grant assistant on all aspects of subaward management and compliance.
- Provide training to the new faculty on grants management and reporting requirements.
- Prepare financial or budget plans and allocation along with the planning and finance department in accordance with each requirement.
- Maintain records of all payments and receivables and prepare monthly records for all grant related activities.
Qualifications
Master / PhD in any Science subject
Skills & Competencies
- Project management skills
- Budgeting and accounting experience including Tally and ERP
- Knowledge of auditing policies
- Knowledge of donor agencies
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Professional individual who is well-presented at all times.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work and communicate across a variety of demographics
- Ability to exercise good judgment and work with minimal supervision

- Overall 10-15 yrs of prior work experience. Experience of working in Academic sector at a University level is preferred.
