Job Description:
The Department of Physics, School of Natural Sciences, at Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence (Deemed to be University), Delhi NCR, invites applications for two Assistant Professor positions (Theory). The university seeks talented individuals who can contribute to its vibrant academic environment through high-quality teaching and innovative research. The ideal candidates should possess outstanding academic credentials and a strong research background in the following areas:
- Quantum Information
- Theoretical and Mathematical Studies in Physics
Specific Research Topics of Interest:
- Quantum computing, including development of new platforms and technologies, algorithm development targeting both fault-tolerant digital hardware and analogue approaches for optimization, quantum machine learning, and quantum error correction.
- Quantum optimal control of noisy quantum systems, counter-diabatic driving for complex systems, simulation of noisy quantum systems, and design of quantum algorithms for near-term devices.
- Condensed-matter physics (e.g., many-body systems, topological aspects of matter, disordered and glassy systems, spin glasses, non-Hermitian physics)
- Statistical Physics, Nonlinear dynamics and Chaos
- Fundamental aspects of quantum mechanics
The above-mentioned topics are representative research themes. However, the desired research background may not be limited to these.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in appropriate branch/discipline and first class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree in Physics with a good academic record throughout. A minimum of three years of research experience, excluding the experience gained before and while pursuing a Ph.D., is mandatory.
