Eligibility: A candidate who has passed Master’s degree in Chemistry or an allied field in Natural Sciences and/or MTech. with minimum 60% (or equivalent grade) marks. Students whose final results of Master’s program are awaited can still apply if the total cumulative mark is 55% for the previous year. However, such students must produce proof of a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent grade in M.Sc./MTech. before securing admission to the Ph.D. program, if qualified. Candidates with a four-year Bachelor's degree are also eligible to apply.
Selection Process: All the eligible candidates will be called for a written exam followed by an interview. CSIR-UGC NET-JRF fellows and other JRF-qualified candidates are exempt from the written exam; selection is based on the interview.

All full-time Ph.D. scholars admitted to the program will receive a doctoral award (teaching and research assistantship), which includes a monthly stipend of ₹45,000 for the first two years and ₹50,000 for the next three years, subject to benchmarked performance. The continuation of this award depends on satisfactory performance in the program, which is continuously evaluated, and compliance with all university regulations. Additionally, all full-time Ph.D. scholars will receive an annual tuition waiver of ₹60,000 and an annual hostel fee subsidy of ₹60,000. Deserving Ph.D. students will also be eligible for a travel research grant of ₹1,50,000 to support conference travel (only for Scopus-indexed conferences), both domestic and international, during the five-year Ph.D. program.

Research Infrastructure
Our chemistry labs are equipped with fume-hoods, Schlenk lines, eyewash stations and safety showers. Lab facilities include advanced analytical instruments such as EPR, AFM, Flash Chromatography, Gas Chromatography with MS, Gel Permeation Chromatography, HPLC (Prep & Analytical), FPLC, NMR, LCMS-qToF, MALDI-ToF, DSC, TGA, Single-crystal X-ray Diffractometer, Electrochemical Analyzer, Fluorimeter, TCSPC, Polarimeter, UV-visible, High-resolution FTIR, Raman Spectrometers, Microwave Reactor, Inverted Microscope, Fluorescent Microscope, Hot-stage Polarized Microscope, Ferroelectric-Piezoelectric- Pyroelectric test system, Bio-safety Cabinets, CO2 Incubators, Shaker Incubators, Glove box, Multimode Plate Reader, Electroporator, Deep freezer, Cell Counter, etc.
Computational facilities that include a high-performance IBM cluster (“Magus”) having 8064 cores, along with two nodes with GPGPU processors, delivering a theoretical peak performance of ~320TF. Additionally, several Linux workstations are used for teaching as well as research purposes. Software for bioinformatics and cheminformatics, molecular modeling, molecular dynamics, quantum chemistry, data analysis, and statistical learning is also available.
Our library, housed in a modern 5-storey building, provides online access from anywhere on campus to a large number of electronic journals and databases, including APS, AIP, ACS, RSC, AMS, SIAM, Springer, Elsevier, Wiley, and Nature journals, in addition to various books, e-books, and other learning resources.
