Hands-on training and infrastructural facilities
The program offers a learning method that involves active participation and practical experience for students. Students get hands-on training through the practical courses as well as research courses and opportunities. While the undergraduate teaching laboratories are themselves equipped with research grade instrumentation and facilities, students also get opportunities to conduct research and use equipment in the research laboratories of their faculty advisor.
Research opportunities
A hallmark of the program is its dynamic and continuously evolving approach, designed to offer an enriching educational experience. One of its key strengths lies in engaging undergraduate students as active contributors to research groups early in their academic journey. This seamless integration of research and coursework fosters a collaborative and immersive learning environment. By developing critical analytical and practical skills from the outset, the program prepares students for advanced studies and successful professional careers.
Various avenues for research experience
- Extra-curricular research with faculty: Students can pursue research projects and get experience in working in research laboratory under the guidance of faculty advisers.
- Opportunity for Undergraduate Research (OUR): A flagship program implemented by the office of Dean of Research, where students pursuing their second or third year of undergraduate degree can pursue a one year project with a faculty advisor.
- Internships: Students are encouraged to pursue summer training programs.
- Minor and major project in the fourth year: As a part of the curriculum, students pursue research project in the seventh and eight semesters.
