Membrane Biophysics
The group is working to understand the molecular interaction and mechanism of cellular membranes in the presence of various additives such as cholesterol, ionic-liquids, DNA, graphene-based nanoparticles, proteins, and amino acids. Characterization of thermodynamic and structural properties using various experimental techniques such as Langmuir-Blodgett isotherm, X-ray reflectivity, in-plane rheology, DSC, and microscopy are carried out. Such a fundamental and applied studies are important for designing and developing novel drugs and delivery systems to cure various diseases.
