Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research
Recently, there has been an increasing academic interest in innovation and entrepreneurship across many countries and fields. The widespread use of digital technologies offers unique opportunities for entrepreneurs and creates new challenges. Thereby, research should investigate how entrepreneurial actors intend to generate socio-environmental value through financially viable business models and balance the well-being of all stakeholders in the ecosystem. Moreover, it is crucial to examine how they integrate SDGs into their operations, processes, and value chains.
Data Science and Technology in Business
The rapid development of big data has led to the emergence of data science. However, understanding and mastering the internal patterns of generating value from big data is key to improving digitization and converging data science with other disciplines such as computer science and management science. Research in Data Science is based on the "application demand-driven and scientific problem-oriented" principle. In due time, research will enable us to realize the core role of data science and technology in the digital economy.
Digital Transformation and Business Sustainability
Digital technologies have revolutionized the economy and society, offering exciting possibilities for entrepreneurs. The impact of this progress, with the potential to create economic, environmental, and social value, has attracted much academic interest. The research in this field is multidisciplinary, involving different economic and management perspectives, and classical theories and methods. SME Faculty research investigates how firms and industries balance economic, environmental, and sustainability guidance in their digital practices.
