Department of Electrical Engineering
Aligned with the visionary goals of Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence, the Department of Electrical Engineering (EED) is committed to addressing the evolving demands of the electrical engineering industry and cutting-edge research and development sectors. The department offers a dynamic and future-ready curriculum that integrates innovative pedagogy with extensive hands-on learning, ensuring alignment with the latest technological advancements and the requirements of Industry 4.0.
The Department of Electrical Engineering offers the following academic programs:
- Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering
- Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
At the undergraduate level, students enrolled in the B.Tech. program can pursue specializations in addition to the regular degree. To earn a specialization, students must complete a prescribed number of credits from a curated basket of courses specific to the chosen domain. The department offers specializations in cutting-edge areas such as Modern Energy Systems, Wireless Systems Engineering, and VLSI Design. In addition, EED students may opt for interdisciplinary specializations including Applied Machine Intelligence, E-Mobility, Cognitive Robotics, Computational Mechanics, and Real-Time Embedded Systems.
The department is supported by state-of-the-art and research laboratories, fostering a strong culture of learning by doing. Furthermore, EED hosts a vibrant doctoral program that promotes both fundamental and applied research on challenging problems relevant to industry and academia. The university and the department actively encourage collaborative research and consultancy across interdisciplinary domains, with a strong focus on generating high-impact, state-of-the-art research outcomes.
