Satyam Shekhar is the Programme Manager at the Centre of Excellence for Himalayan Studies, Shiv Nadar University, where he oversees the Centre's programmes, publications and operations. He manages the end-to-end publication process for the Centre's Commentaries, Issue Briefs and Occasional Papers, and oversees their dissemination to strengthen the Centre's outreach and visibility. He also leads the Centre's institutional communications, including the bi-monthly Himalayas Plus newsletter, website content and social media. He leads projects, and coordinates major conferences and seminars on Himalayan governance and regional affairs, and serves as the Centre's single point of contact for administrative and operational coordination.

Earlier, at O.P. Jindal Global University, he led student outreach, communications, events and institutional partnerships to support student admissions.

Before moving into higher education, he worked at the National Maritime Foundation, a national strategic-affairs think tank, where he coordinated high-level dialogues and conferences, prepared reports and briefs, and built partnerships with government bodies, foreign missions, think tanks and academic institutions. He began his career in social work, designing skill-building and life-skills programmes for children in institutional care and for inmates at Delhi's Tihar Prisons, an early grounding in grassroots engagement and social impact that continues to shape his approach to institution-building.
