Center for Public Affairs and Critical Theory (C-PACT) organizing a webinar on 'M.Sc. in Water Science and Policy - Education and Work to Address the Challenges of the 21st Century'

The Center for Public Affairs and Critical Theory (C-PACT) invites you to the second webinar titled 'M.Sc. in Water Science and Policy - Education and Work to Address the Challenges of the 21st Century', on 23rd June at 4:00 PM.

The need for water professionals equipped with a robust understanding of the complexity and multiple dimensions of water has been expressed time and again over the past couple of decades. As the water crisis of the 21st century is worsening with alterations of the hydrological regime, land use change, growing population, urbanization, environmental pollution and degradation, and global climate change, C-PACT invites you to participate in a webinar focusing on these crises and possible solutions.

Two scholars, eminent thinkers and campaigners in environmental, social and economic change, will address the critical water challenges we face today. Professor S. Vishwanath, Trustee, Biome Environmental Trust and Adjunct Professor, Azim Premji University, Bangalore, will be speaking on ‘IUWM - challenges, opportunities and experiences from the ground’; and Professor Kalyan Das, Professor, Cotton University, Guwahati on ‘What the Northeastern region of India needs to do to avert emerging water insecurity’.

We invite you to hear them highlight the regional bio-physical, hydro-geological, political-ecological, social and environmental justice questions, and to participate in our discussion on the M.Sc. in Water Science and Policy program, a necessary knowledge engagement to build a cadre of water professionals.
