Career Development Centre Presents The Sri Lankan Crisis and its Impact on India's Foreign Affairs and Economy

The Career Development Centre invites you to a conversation between Ms. Jyoti Malhotra, Consulting Editor, The Indian Express and Dr. Rajat Kathuria, Dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences on The Sri Lankan Crisis and its Impact on India's Foreign Policies and Economy. The conversation will be moderated by Ms. Puja Mehra, Journalist & Author.

The conversation is scheduled to take place on 21 April 2022, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, in C-021.

The island nation of Sri Lanka with a population of 22 million people is going through its worst financial crisis since it gained independence in 1948, with a foreign exchange shortage making essential commodities, including fuel and medicines, scarce. India, even in its 75th year of independence is still struggling to make the essential commodities affordable to its larger population with a mostly hostile neighbourhood making things all the more difficult.

In the conversation, the panelists discuss what impact the crisis will have on India's already struggling economy and its policies with its neighbours as a SAARC nation.
