Anirban Bhattacharyya, PhD scholar with the department of Sociology was awarded Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral Research Fellowship 2022-2023. The Fulbright Program will enable Anirban to gain access to the archival resources, which include primary material, documents, and musical instrument donations that Sourindro Mohun Tagore made to several institutions in the United States of America. It also gives him an opportunity to share his research on the theory and practice of Hindustani classical music by teaching both studio and lecture courses at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. During his appointment as a Fulbright scholar, he looks forward to having a choreographic presentation of his ongoing collaborative project as a music-composer with Dr. Kaustavi Sarkar at the Department of Dance, UNCC.
