Mnemon, the History Society, brings to you a film festival that will showcase resistance in different forms and settings.

31st August, 2019 (Saturday):

1:00 pm"Persepolis" by Marjane Satrapi is a haunting yet humorous story of a young Iranian girl, which talks of happiness, grief and moments where all children are forced to grow up. 

3:00 pm- "Firaaq" by Nandita Das is set in the month after the 2002 attacks in Gujarat. The movie shows the agony the people had to deal with and how it became a part of their everyday lives.


1st September, 2019 (Sunday):

1:00 pm- "I am Not Your Negro" by Raoul Peck. Based on James Baldwin's unfinished manuscript Remember This House, Peck has moved the audience to rethink the understanding of race relations today. 

3:00 pm- "The Motorcycle Diaries" by Walter Salles is set in 1952, with two young men on a road trip across South America. It is a very subtle and realistic film on how Che Guevara changed his outlook on the world and subsequently changed the world itself.
