Chandrashekhar lecture series

The Physics Society cordially invites you to the first lecture of Chandrasekhar Lecture Series.

Title: Tailoring New Multi-functional Oxides

Title: Tailoring New Multi-functional Oxides

Abstract: Our new abilities and knowledge in manipulating material dimensionalities and associated intrinsic properties have opened up various exciting possibilities to design, generate and tailor novel properties and functionalities for exotic applications and devices. My research group at the department of physics, SNU have been engaged in developing state-of-the-art interdisciplinary materials research for designing new oxide materials via high performance computing, controlling film growth down to a single unit-cell/atomic layer thickness, manipulating dimensionalities, fabricating and testing devices. This presentation will give an overview of these collective efforts.

Speaker: Dr. Sankar Dhar
               Professor and Head
               Department of Physics
               School of Natural Sciences (SoNS)

Date: 3rd September 2019

Time: 12 PM to 1 PM (With an extra hour from 1 PM to 2 PM for follow up questions)

Event Date:
Tuesday, September 3, 2019 - 11:00

The Physics Society which is intimately associated to the Physics department, has organised the Chandrasekhar Lecture Series . It is directed mainly to the undergraduate students of the university who want to pursue research in the physics department under the guidance of our faculties. The Lecture series will comprise of lectures given by our faculty members focusing on the research that they and their group are currently doing and the plans they have for the future.

We are delighted to announce that the inauguratory lecture will be delivered by Prof. Sankar Dhar, tomorrow. Please see the forwarded mail below, for details of the venue and topic of the lecture.
