Dr. Anshu Paliwal
Associate Director and Head of Student Life
Dr. Paliwal holds a doctoral degree in Developmental Psychology and a M.Sc. in Human Development from RTM Nagpur University (Gold Medallist). She is UGC-NET qualified. She has obtained a postgraduate diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the Institute of Psycho Management Studies, Nagpur, along with a diploma in Training and Development from the Indian Society for Training and Development recognized by the Government of India, New Delhi. She is a seasoned professional with over 19 years of experience in the education sector. Having started her career as a faculty for Human Development, she went on to work as a Student Affairs professional in eminent Universities.
Prior to joining Shiv Nadar University Delhi NCR, Dr. Paliwal was working as a Joint Proctor at the Office of the Chief Proctor at O. P. Jindal Global University (JGU), Sonipat. Her responsibilities included coordinating reports to the government in relation to the Institution of Eminence status, NAAC, AQAR and BCI, among others. In her role at JGU, she was heading the Centre for Wellness and Counselling Services.
Before this, she spent 10 years working with the University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun, in multiple capacities; she held portfolios and positions like Associate Proctor, the Advisor (Model UN), Convener (Explorers Photography Club), Chief Coordinator (NPS Students’ Feedback), Energiser (Positive Leadership), Member Secretary (Internal Complaint Committee (ICC)), Nodal Officer (Gender Champion Club) among others. At UPES, she also served as the primary interface between parents and the university. In these various roles, she has drafted several policy guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) to facilitate smooth operation of student life on campus.
In her current role at Shiv Nadar University Delhi NCR, as the Associate Director and Head of Student Life in the Office of Director of Students, Dr. Paliwal oversees operational management and administrative direction of the Student Affairs function, with broad responsibility of fostering healthy campus culture and high-quality student life experience. She leads student care functions like student affairs, hostel management, extracurricular activities and responding directly to student needs and issues affecting student well-being. She directs student activities at the university and plans recreational and social events for different student groups. She is a go-to person for all student-related queries, concerns and updates. Her motto is to enhance students’ experience on campus.
