Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. The Warden shall be responsible for the Administration of the Hostel (s) assigned to him/her. He/ She shall be responsible for the general health, hygiene and welfare of the students residing in the hostel. He/ She shall attend to all matters of health, sickness, diet, sanitation and cleanliness in accordance with laid down directions and guidelines.
  2. Warden shall be responsible for ensuring that the resident students observe the rules framed for their guidance
    and maintenance of decorum.
  3. To manage discipline in the hostel in line with the University Disciplinary Procedures for Students and Codes of     Conduct while referring more serious disciplinary issues to the Deputy Dean / Dean Student.
  4. To manage the response to incidents and emergencies relating to health, safety and general wellbeing of students and to liaise effectively with the other wardens on campus, the Deputy Dean and support services, where appropriate and within existing procedures.
  5. Assisting the Deputy Dean / ODS with the admission process of new students.
  6. Establishing and maintaining appropriate social contact with students.
  7. Providing relevant information about the students whenever required.
  8. Ensuring appropriate first aid support when needed in liaison with the University Healthcare Centre.
  9. Taking part in implementation fire drills, crime prevention and health & safety awareness initiatives.
  10. Responding to on-site emergencies during out-of-office hours. Availability beyond standard office hours, ensuring readiness to address unforeseen situations at any time.
  11. Ensure ragging/bullying free Hostel Environment.
  12. Maintain strict vigilance inside the hostels by regular inspection including surprise checks as per the laid down process/when directed by the Deputy Dean.
  13. Produce written incident reports to the Deputy Dean / Disciplinary Committee/ Proctorial Board for disciplinary hearings and where necessary, to attend such hearings.
  14. Support the University's commitment of equality and diversity.


Required competency/ key skills        

  1. Preferably an experience of minimum 5+ years as a warden/assistant warden in a reputed educational institution.
  2. Good communication skills with fair knowledge of both verbal and written expression in English and Hindi languages.
  3. Good working knowledge of Microsoft word and excel.
  4. Proactive, resourceful, flexible and ready to take on responsibilities.
  5. To deliver services effectively, the post holder may be required to perform additional tasks not specifically referred to above.
