Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence (Deemed to be University), Uttar Pradesh, a multidisciplinary, research-focused, and student-centric Institution of Eminence, invites applications from outstanding researchers to host Ramanujan/Ramalingaswami/DBT-India Alliance Early Career Fellows in the Department of Chemistry.
The Ramanujan, Ramalingaswami, and DBT-India Alliance Early Career Fellowships are prestigious schemes instituted by the Government of India to facilitate the return of highly skilled Indian scientists working abroad and to strengthen India’s scientific research ecosystem.
Desired Areas of Specialization
Applicants working in theoretical and computational chemistry with a strong focus on methodological, conceptual, or interdisciplinary research orientation are encouraged to apply. Preferred expertise includes (but is not limited to):
- Theoretical method development based on quantum and classical mechanics
- Nonlinear dynamics
- Statistical Mechanics
Interdisciplinary research that bridges chemistry, physics, materials science, and data science will be given special consideration.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria prescribed under the Ramanujan/Ramalingaswami/DBT-India Alliance Early Career Fellowship, Government of India. In general, candidates should:
- Hold a PhD in Chemistry or a closely related discipline
- Have a strong postdoctoral research record, preferably from leading institutions abroad
- Demonstrate the potential to establish an independent and internationally visible research program
- Be willing to contribute to graduate-level teaching and research mentoring at Shiv Nadar University

- Fulfilment of SNIoE norms, candidate’s suitability for the Department and availability of appropriate mentoring and infrastructure.
- Hosting of the Ramanujan/Ramalingaswami/ DBT Early Career Fellowship at Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence, Uttar Pradesh, is subject to approval by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) and Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, and fulfilment of University norms.
The Ramanujan/Ramalingaswami/DBT-India Alliance Early Career Fellowships are fixed-term, externally funded research fellowships and do not confer any right or guarantee of regular or permanent employment at Shiv Nadar University.
