  1. Project Description

Therapy resistance accounts for 90% of cancer-related deaths. Therapy-induced senescence helps cancer cells escape the cytotoxic effects of treatments by allowing a temporary cell cycle arrest. The project aims to understand the role of insulin-like growth factor-1 signaling in the re-entry of therapy-induced senescent breast cancer cells into the cell cycle and explores the potential to target this pathway to prevent therapy resistance through senescence induction.

  1. Nature of work

Junior Research Fellow-1 (JRF-1) will be responsible for conducting cell and molecular biology experiments, performing biochemical assays, and performing in vivo work for the project. It is expected that the JRF, after receiving proper training, will maintain the instruments and train undergraduate students in the lab.
