Roles and Responsibilities:
- To support the University's equality and diversity commitment.
- The Warden shall be responsible for the health, hygiene and general welfare of the students residing in the hostels that are specifically assigned to him/ her and shall attend to all matters of heath, sickness, diet, sanitation and cleanliness in accordance with laid down orders/guidelines.
- Warden shall be responsible for the resident students and shall ensure that the students concerned observe the rules framed for their guidance and maintenance of decorum.
- To manage discipline in the hostel in line with the University Disciplinary Procedures for Students and Codes of Conduct referring more serious disciplinary issues to the Head Hostel Admin / Dean Student.
- To manage the response to incidents and emergencies relating to health, safety and general wellbeing of students and to liaise effectively with the other wardens on campus, the Head Hostel Admin and support services, where appropriate and within existing procedures.
- Assisting the Head Hostel Admin / ODS with the admission process of new students.
- Establishing and maintaining appropriate social contact with students.
- Providing relevant information about the students whenever it is required.
- Offering appropriate first aid support when needed.
- Taking part in implementation fire drills, crime prevention and health & safety awareness initiatives.
- Responding to on-site emergencies during out-of-office hours. Availability beyond standard office hours, ensuring readiness to address unforeseen situations at any time.
- Ensure bullying & ragging free Hostel. Maintain Free spirit Hostels.
- Regular rounds of the hostels including surprise checks as per the laid down process.
- To produce written reports to the Head Hostel Admin / Disciplinary Committee for disciplinary hearings and where necessary, to attend such hearings
Required Candidate profile
- Good communication skills
- Fair knowledge of English and Hindi languages
- Knowledge of Microsoft word and excel
- Proactive, resourceful and flexible
- Ready to take on responsibilities
- To deliver services effectively, a degree of flexibility is needed, and the post holder may be required to perform work not specifically referred to above.
