Applications are invited for the post of a Research Associate (RA) for a duration of two years in a SERB-funded research project entitled “Classification of Banach spaces using differentiability’’ under the joint supervision of Dr. T. S. S. R. K. Rao and Dr P. Grover , Department of Mathematics, School of Natural Sciences, Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence (Deemed to be University), Delhi NCR.

Short-listed candidates will be communicated for an online interview on/before 15th May 2025 and is expected to join by 01-06-2025.
1. Project Synopsis
The project concerns classification of Banach spaces with particular emphasis on function spaces
and spaces of operators between Banach spaces, matrix spaces; using various forms of differentiability of the norm.
Applications of these ideas to approximation theory and geometry of Banach spaces will be the desired outcome.
Nature of work
Research Associate (RA) will be required to actively participate in the advancement of project. He/She should acquire
the necessary background by studying and conducting seminars in the relevant topics.
Essential and Desirable Qualifications
• The candidate should have a PhD degree in Mathematics, in Functional Analysis/Operator theory from a UGC-recognized University or Institution. Those who are awaiting to finish Viva can also apply. Should already have publications in good journals.
• Good written and oral communication skills are necessary.

Two years.

As per DST norms, the fellowship is 58,000/- p.m. plus HRA (as per DST norms).
