The Department of Physics, School of Natural Sciences, Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University, invites applications from Indian /Indian-origin scientists (currently working outside India and below the age of 40 years) seeking nomination for the Ramanujan Fellowship. Applicants with excellent academic records, who are eager to pursue innovative research and teaching, and are working in the following research areas are encouraged to apply:
1. Soft Matter / Biophysics (Theory and Experiment)
2. Quantum Information Theory and/or allied Many-body Physics
3. Cosmology
4. Quantum Condensed Matter (Theory)
Subject to satisfactory performance during the fellowship period and availability of positions, the department may absorb the Ramanujan Fellow as a permanent faculty member.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Physics and relevant allied disciplines with first class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree in Physics with a good academic record throughout. The candidate should have demonstrated research capabilities through publications in reputed journals and conferences relevant to the above research themes. Adequate post-doctoral research experience is desirable.

About the Physics Department at SNIoE
The Department of Physics at the Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence (SNIoE) strives to integrate teaching with research to bring the excitement of discoveries to the classroom and to involve undergraduate students in research from an early stage of their academic journey. The research topics in the department of physics span from few atoms to the beginning of the universe to the whole saga of materials of technological and societal importance. In particular, the department is committed to equip all the students, scholars, and faculty members to meet and solve the challenges that contemporary society faces in energy, electronics, environment and economic developments via theoretical or computational or experimental research or a combination of them.
