What is YTF?

Young Thinkers Forum is a certified seven-day-long program, where students are exposed to different disciplines and beyond through a offline setting.

Our program includes a range of activities including vertical tutoring between high school students and college students, faculty presentations, fun sessions, discussion groups, guest speakers and interactive multimedia learning.
Along with the courses of their choice, the students can engage in non-academic activities that focus on honing important leadership and networking skills.

This program will also allow high school students to get a chance to expand their academic interests by exploring new fields and expanding their skills, making them ready to enter the next stage of their path.

Courses Offered

Data Science/AI
Prof. Balamurugan Balusamy

Data is now more valuable than ever, every industry now needs data science to grow. Using basic python tools panda, Sci-py, NumPy learn the basics of data science and analysis. In this course, you will learn to perform simple statistical analysis, visualization, and even predicting the future. This course has a prerequisite which is attached below, the knowledge from this might be helpful.

Environment
Prachi Pandit

We eagerly await a beautiful future but it is all in vain if we don’t protect the environment. This course introduces major environmental health science (mostly of India), how to determine them and how to alter/resolve them. This course focuses a lot on hygiene, waste management, and how the Covid-19 pandemic has changed the game and our priorities.

Economics
Prof. Partha Chatterjee

Why does money exist on a delicate balance and why is it so complicated? Get your answers in this course. Here we dive into the different terminologies you hear thrown around like macro and microeconomics, taxes, trades, etc while providing you with both financial problems and their solutions. We will also provide you with examples and encourage you to look at these real-life socio-economic problems in a different light.

Entrepreneurship

All you need to know to start a business of your own is in this course (at least the basics), here you will learn everything from marketing principles behind high budget ad campaigns to the changing financial market while also how to manage your personal finance. Using hands-on activities we would make sure the students get real experience and business ethics.

Astronomy
Prof. Aakash Sinha

Astronomy compels the soul to look up to the cosmos thinking of all the bizarre and mind-boggling worlds out there. In this course, we cover one topic each day to paint you an image of what is out there in the vastness of the space. Cover topics such as stars from birth to death, relativity, satellites, and astrobiology. Explore space with numerous questions both answered and unanswered.

The Konigsberg Bridge Problem and Generating Music with Numbers are two fascinating subjects that help students understand the basics of music and how it can be created using numbers. Face Recognition using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) will teach how to express every image in training set in terms of a few algorithmically generated images.

Robotics

Exploring Navigation Autonomy in Robotics We are living in an era of robots. Combined with artificial. intelligence, robots can carry out complex tasks and assist humans in dull, dangerous, and dirty tasks. The students will learn sensor interfacing, providing motion and actuation, and programming some of the autonomous behaviors and demonstrate their autonomous robot in action!

Program Details(General Summer School)

When and Where?

  • Program Dates - , 2nd June, 2023 – to 7 June, 2023
  • Offline, one campus one week long program will be experienced by the participants under the guidance of Shiv Nadar IoE faculty and trained mentors

Eligibility Criteria

  • For students from Grade 8 to 12
  • A passion for learning and engaging with diverse fields.
  • Eligibile students from all over India are eligible to
    apply!

How it works?

  • Overall 7-10 course will be offered including the activity based learnings.
  • Individual Course Duration - 45 minutes
  • One core course every day along with Skill Building session – 45 minutes
    A-Vocation Corner : The aim of this program is to impart social life skills and leadership skills for regaining a sense of philanthropy and diligence. A series of events would be conducted by diverse clubs and societies in the University. Moreover, there would be sessions taken up by the professors and the alumni.
  • Team building and non-scholastic activity
  • Certificate to all attendees
