His Ph.D. thesis was tilted History, Experience and Norms: Analysing Alternatives to Rawlsian Political Theory
. While dominantly political theory has been understood as a normative discipline, in his thesis Shekhar analysed the alternative understanding of ‘theory’ that emerges out of the work of philosophers like, Richard Rorty, Michael Oakeshott and Raymond Geuss. He is currently working on a critical analyses of American pragmatist philosophy, focusing specially on the arguments offered by Michael Oakeshott.
